Just a short note of introduction. Got the Pentax bug while working in Lizars Photographic in the 1970's. Used to sell Spotmatics and the like to Glasgow's middle classes but could never afford one myself making do with the chunky though fairly effective Chinon CX.
Wind forward 40 ish years and I now have the where with all to afford that which had been denied me all those years ago! The auction sites and charity shops proved fruitful, and with the help of the brilliant guys at Harrow Technical managed to get several working examples of the golden age m42 and K series Pentax's.
At first it was easy to limit myself to film era (pre-autofocus SLR's) but reading this brilliant forum persuaded me to try digital. Took the plunge with a K5 (aiming high right away!) and have since enhanced the "collection" with a handful of other digital cameras.
The kit list is now pretty extensive, I won't go into it here, but everything gets used thanks in part to the back compatability of the Pentax system.
I have really enjoyed consulting the forum and thought that it was about time I started contributing.
