Hi all,

I am an experienced amateur photographer (with some paid experience along the way as well).

I grew up on film cameras, learning on the classic Pentax K-1000, which I used for many years from the late 1970s through the early 2000s. In 2005, I got my first digital SLR, a Nikon D40. I've been using it ever since. I also have a Mamiya medium format camera.

Anyway, I have questions regarding a possible move from Nikon back to Pentax, but first just wanted to say hello and introduce myself, and thanks for letting me join the forum. Thanks!

Welcome to the forum! I have amassed a good collection of Pentax gear, but have used Nikon and Canon in the past. I still have a Nikon D40x in the trunk of my agency vehicle (the agencies camera) that I use daily.

Welcome. Many of us here still submit our film pictures to the Forum. You will find the later Pentax DSLR cameras a huge advance over that early Nikon. Anything from the K5 and later should be up to the job.

Hello, and welcome to the Forums. I shoot Pentax primarily since the mid 70's . I do however have a small collection of Nikon lenses that fit my F4, D70 ,and D200
