Hello from Brooklyn

Hey all,
First post here, first of all thank you all for creating such a wonderful wealth of resources.
Picked up my first pentax K-s2 for a 4th of july trip to Canada, coupled with Pentax FA 35-80mm F/4-5.6. It turned out great so far I am loving the camera and my pictures are so much better then they were with my mirrorless setup.

A little about me, last year started a new to me hobby collecting film cameras, at that point I only had Samsung nx-20 for a few years that I upgraded last winter to NX-30, for what they were, they are good cameras with plenty of features. But as I was getting more and more into film I decided that DSLR was next step.

From my research it was Pentax that won me over mostly due to K mount lenses being available in all shapes and forms for not much money, and best part you can use old glass without adapters.
So I picked up K-s2 body from Robert's camera on ebay and a 35-80 lens from japan, and went on a week long journey drive thru Canada. Camera worked perfectly with the exception of selfies as 35mm on 1.5 crop just couldn't get more that a head in the shot.
35-80 I bought mostly to try to use in on my KR-30sp Ricoh but that didn't really work that well. Lens is too new for that camera. So i sold it and bought myself 18-200 Tamron for a general walk around lens.
For KR-30sp I just picked up 28-100 Rikenon it still in the mail but once comes in I'll leave a review as there are none for it.

My film cameras span a whole range of films and ages, oldest lens i have is Baush & Lomb made between 1895-1901, I already adapted it to k-s2 with bellows. Bunch of soviet zenit, photosniper, FED, zorki. Polaroid Land, Canon FTb, Kodak Bantam etc.
Main idea for when I collect is to be able to shoot them at least once. so some of the film i've shot been extinct for decades.

here is a pic of the gear lol

It seems most folks use Flickr but you can always use the "Manage Attachments" button to host them on PF. I've been using SmugMug for a long time and haven't switched to Flickr. Yet.

I see a lovely white hibiscus. Though, initially, I saw the photo with the Bausch and Lomb lens, but now I don't see that one.

Thank you for letting me know, I'll stick to Flckr for all my post from now on.
Here is re-uploaded pic of the B&L lens, it was mounted to a reverse adapter onto a 50mm M42 adapted lens.

and this was the pic that came out, since then i got a better adapter and bellows for focusing pics are still in the camera though

Hey, welcome! I have a number of meaningful connections with Brooklyn. Among others, I was living at Ft. Hamilton when the Verrazano Narrows Bridge opened.

I was raised on LI in North NHP on Hillside Ave but that was 73 to 57 years ago. My dad was raised in Canarsie. When my folks got married they lived in an apartment in Astoria. Wow, that was a long time ago.

Hey, Dodik, take some of that gear down to the Bay Ridge Promenade and post up some shots from under the bridge.
