Hello from Kansas City

Long-time lurker and finally joined. I've been using Pentax since I started photography on a whim in 2011. Now, I shoot mostly 35mm digital and B&W film. I recently quit my corporate job to become at least a part-time photographer. Next year, I'll start shooting real estate and weddings in Kansas, Missouri, and Colorado and see what directions all this takes me. I shoot urban, nature, and my family for fun . You have a really cool community here and I'm happy to be a part of it. I'm interested to see what Ricoh/Pentax comes up with in the future and of course have my own ideas for them ha. I feel like there's still a niche with sensor stabilization in SLR cameras and of course the Pentax heritage. I started with Pentax because they were the cheapest at the time and continue because I have a set of compact lenses I like that all focus turning the same direction and affordable performance with weather resistance. Peace

Welcome Scott!
What are you going to be using, camera and lens-wise?

Thanks.

Pentax K-1 with Pentax-F 17-28 fisheye (corrected in post processing) and FA 43 for real estate.

Pentax K-1 with Zeiss Distagon 25, FA 43, DA 55, and Pentax-F 70-210 for weddings and engagements. K-50 with 18-135 as backup. I prefer to carry only one body at a time with digital and have two shooters if there are additional needs. Pentax Z-1s for B&W film with same lenses. Acquiring a fairly simple lighting kit soon.

I also use Pentax Super Programs and Canon Sureshot A1 underwater film cameras for some things. A Sony RX100 converted to infrared. A couple other old Pentax lenses that rarely get used.

Interesting selection of lenses. Will be interested in seeing how your commercial operation builds up. It sounds appealing to change things up like you have.

I work in the KC area and live in Lawrence. Welcome to the forum.

Welcome Scott from California!

I did go to high school and Jr. College in Overland Park (many years ago) and love to see the shots of the KC area that others in the forum post.

Good luck with the business!
