Do you have any old Pentax lenses? If you tell us what they are, I'm sure everyone will give you lots of advice. Just to get the ball rolling.
Even if you don't have any, it will still help get the ball rolling. We need information to work with.

Welcome to the forum! Take your time and read the various sections discussing the equipment to get an idea. Notice that PF has in depth reviews of most recent cameras and lenses. Have fun!

Welcome!

To answer the question you asked, the last K-1000 cameras were made in China.

Today, Pentax has plants in the Philippines and Vietnam which make most of their bodies and lenses .... I'm not sure they make anything in Japan anymore.

Many of us are willing to help narrow down the rather extensive reading lists some are proposing.

I always assume any OP will pick and choose what to spend his/her time on

especially when the OP says " any advise is welcomed "

And I always assume when folks ask for advice, they aren't asking for a reading list. They are asking for a little direction.

Or as my students used to say if I gave them too much to read for a simple question. "You're supposed to be the the teacher, what do they pay you for?"
I assume the OP will pick and choose, but I also assume he/she may have already read the appropriate information and still needs help figuring it all out.
"Any advice is welcome." does not mean all advice is equal, and a reading list is his/her preferred method of assimilating information.

Sometimes people just want to know what your thoughts are.

yep, nothing wrong with those thoughts

different strokes for different folks

IDIC

IDIC: Infinite Diversity in Infinite Combinations

refers to individuals, races, creeds, talents and styles etc.

IMHO, YMMV
