Ciao from a sunny Italy.

Hello!
I've just bought a Pentax MX. I'm new at all at photography, but i hope it's a long journey. I have experience in cyanotypes and pinholes and i love wetplates and dryplates.

Ciao from a sunny (but cold!) Italy
P.

Welcome! MX in Italy

Pulce, Welcome!

I just joined this forum as well and noted (briefly) how I traveled through Italy in 1980 - 1981 with the Pentax MX I had just bought in Japan. Great traveling camera.

Now I just bought a medium format camera and I have a couple of sheet film holders for it. Some day, I will try a dry plate in it.

Hi Tom..you too

Dryplate: there are two interesting books by Denise Ross (The Light Farm). I suggest the first one, because the second, from what i know, it's focused on paper.

There's also Jason Lane from
PICTORIOGRAPHICA - Dry Plate Blog who produces ready to use dry plates.

Ciao,
P.

Hi, thanks!
I live near Rome, have you ever visited the Eternal City?

Indeed I have... when walking in the city, there's history just around every corner.

A very famous actor called Alberto Sordi once said about of Rome:
“Noi abbiamo avuto il privilegio di nascere a Roma, e io l'ho praticata come si dovrebbe, perché Roma non è una città come le altre. È un grande museo, un salotto da attraversare in punta di piedi”

"We had the privilege to be born in Rome, and I used to live it like everyone should, because Rome is similar to no city. It's a big museum, a living room to cross on the points of your feet".

Ciao,
P.
