Pentaxian forever

Hello all,

I am a newcomer in the Pentax forums, but Pentaxian since 1979 when I bought my first camera Pentax MX and Pentax-M 50mm f1.7 in 1979. As a schoolboy, I saved money for it for almost a year. It was a camera that taught me to take pictures with a single-lens-reflex camera. When Pentax LX came on the market a couple of years later, I started to save money again. On a cold and snowy winter day, I saw a used Pentax LX body at a reasonable price in a photo shop window. I immediately bought it, and that's where my life's love affair with Pentax cameras began.

At the end of the 1980s, it was time to start saving for housing. I sold my camera equipment all at once and got good money for them. For over a decade, I didn't own any cameras and then at the beginning of the millennium I bought a Nikon SLR and a couple years later I got the Canon PowerShot G9. At same time I slowly started buying back my old Pentax equipment to collect dust in the bookshelf. I shot occasionally, but something was missing. I still had the affection for Pentax, and in 2017 I heard about a new Pentax K3 and coming FF Pentax K1 digital cameras. I bought a used K3. I fell in love with it! I got two budget lenses for it: SMC Pentax-DA 35 mm F2.4 AL and Pentax HD DA 55-300 mm F4-5.8 ED WR.

However, it wasnít enough for me because hunger grows while eating (and photographing)! Finally, last year, I found the Pentax Forums and read everything about lenses and cameras there. Now I purchased the Pentax K-1 Mark II and new lenses for it. Pentax-D FA* 50mm F1.4 SDM AW, SMC Pentax-DA* 300mm F4 ED [IF] SDM, Pentax-D FA 28-105mm f/3.5-5.6 ED DC WR, and Pentax-D FA 150-450mm f/4.5-5.6 ED DC AW are the newest lenses I have bought, and Pentax-A 85mm f1.4 probably best among old Pentax lenses.

Looking forward to learning about digital photography and hearing about the 100-year anniversary of Pentax!

That is an awesome set of lenses you have there in terms of quality... I guess if you can afford those lenses, you don't need to mess around with learning to maximize your use of less capable lenses. I'm looking forward to seeing some images.

Thanks to Everyone!

Thank you so much for the warm welcome! The Pentax forums has already been useful in many ways, and I will reciprocally to participate in the Pentax forums after I got to know a little more of the new camera and lenses.
