New Member - Hello from arctic Wisconsin USA

Hi I am a new member..(subject heading refers to the -40 F temps we're experiencing here 😢. )

I've recently gotten back to Pentax cameras after a long time. My previous Pentax's were an MZ-S, by far my favorite film camera, and an *istD. I now have a Q-S1 with Standard zoom, standard prime, and tele zoom lenses. And my DSLR is the K-S2 with kit lenses, 18-50mm, and 50-200mm, plus some old primes, a Chinon 28mm f/2.8, and takumar 35mm f/3.5 M42 screwmount. I'm enjoying thesse cameras very much and I look forward to this forum.

Welcome Dean.

I live in the Wausau Wi area. Last night the water line to my upstairs toilet froze. Took a break from thawing it out to see what's new on the Pentax Forums.

I usually don't take photos outside when it's this cold. But we've got some ice sculptures downtown, and when it warms up a bit I hope to take a few photos of them.

A couple of years ago when shooting the annual ice sculpture competition I shot an ice sculpture of an eagle (see my icon to the left).

Take up macro work with a nice set of tripod and light brackets and you can stay indoors all winter and never miss a day of shooting.

Welcome to the Forums from far-too-sunny Australia. You have more cold than you need there (it is on the news here) while we are sweltering through what must be the longest running heat wave in a century. Too hot to go out and take pics, that's for sure.

Welcome to the forum Dean.

We're swimming at midnight to cool down and you're freezing! I hope 'normal' weather returns soon.

Kind regards,
Mark

Welcome from south of the border. -23F is cold enough here. I got a bloodshot eye being out Tuesday night. That's never happened to me before. Guess I a clear lens set of ski goggles.

Welcome to the forum, according to my conversion tables -40F is the same as -40C, there's interesting.
