Good Morning from NZ just got a Genuine Filipino Digital Pentax

Hello Pentax enthusiasts,

We have been gathering and using Pentax Film gear for many years but Pentax digital cameras are not very common in New Zealand shops.

We spent the last 6 weeks on holiday in the Philippines with our ME and MX Film cameras (and a Nikon D7200) and got a chance to visit the location of the Pentax factory,
unfortunately it was a public holiday so we only got to the front of the building but it still made my day!
A few days later we were in a Cebu shopping mall, While my Wife and Daughter were going around the boring shops My son and I found a camera shop that had Pentax's.
They only had 2 DSLR's both K70's, we had a play and quite liked it so they did us a good deal on a nice new Black K70 (the other camera was grey with black Pentax script).
We used the K70 with our old 50mm 1.4 while on holiday with very impressive results.

We now have the K70 home in NZ so we can have a play with all our old manual lenses on it.

Welcome to the Forums. You seem to have some gaps in your lens line up. But that is a BIG lens! Interesting shot of the Pentax factory. Thanks for posting that!

Thanks of the post of the Pentax Filipino factor. It is great IMHO. I would love to see more from the inside. (Would you know if there was a tour of factory on working days?)

No they don't have factory tours unfortunately. We had an interesting conversation about all things Pentax with the security guard who is a good bloke but he also had a gun, he was happy for us to take our pictures but Security is very tight it and I suspect it would be difficult/dangerous to go further than we did.

Here's another photo we took at the Pentax factory with an actual Pentax Camera, (I'm still going through all the films).
Taken with a Pentax MX with an antique 17mm fisheye, Kodak Ektar 100.

Good to see that Pentax is spending no money on landscaping.

Line entry in accounts:

Philippines Factory FY2019
Landscaping .......................................................................... $0
'Pentax' sign upkeep (rusting) .................................................$0
Security Guy with Gun protecting 'lens road map' ...................$25,000
Basketball Hoop and car park court for staff ............................$100
