Hello from the emerald Ireland.

Hi all pentax people, just a quick introduction. In 1983 while at college I was fortunate enough to borrow ( the now revered ) k1000 for a photo project. After shooting for just one afternoon with m 50mm and m28mm it felt so natural, but we had to wait for the prints photos for about five days in those times but how exciting it was when they arrived . I was hooked to pentax in an instant and really didn't want to give the camera back . Later in 1985 i was working in Germany and purchased my first pentax camera the program A , not the wisest choice in hindsight but it as much as I could afford and i loved that camera as it came with the A50mm 1.7 lens which I still have and its a gem . I've just gone digital last month with the k70 and I'm so impressed and no more waiting for prints negative's etc, its a joy to use and as natural as the k1000 back then. a photo of my home town I hope I managed to attach it taken with the pentax A 50mm f1.7.

Greetings from a west-coast USA Irishman, one generation removed!
Hope to see Ireland again, 2001 was too short a visit and too long ago.

Céad míle fáilte! My wife is Irish, and it's already St Pat's Day in Australia

You need to spill the beans on the identity of your home town. In July 2016 we went through Dublin, Cashel, Cork, Galway, Cong, Westport, Trim and Ardee. We missed the North altogether - something to remedy next time!

There is a lot of history here . the castle at the bridge (Thomond bridge) is king John's castle the year 1200 AD. ill attach another photo an you will also see saint Mary's cathedral 1168 AD behind to the right. there only snaps as I'm trying to get to grips with auto focus. also a snap of today"s parade . Happy paddies day to all.
