Hi from Ontari-ari-o

Greetings, I'm Ryan, currently living in good ol' Toronto.

I'm a hobby photographer, and have been doing it for about 4 years now. Growing up my pops had a Pentax MX that I would play around with occasionally. When he passed away I got the MX, and when I decided to buy my first DSLR 4 years ago, I guess I felt some allegiance to Pentax and bought a K-S2. Coincidentally, my girlfriend also had a Pentax (a K-01). After a couple years I decided to take the plunge and bought the K-1 and I haven't looked back. Also, my girlfriend's now my wife and we had our photographer shoot a couple rolls on the MX as an homage to my old man!

Well, that's all I've got for now!

Congrats on the new camera. Enjoy it, lots to learn and much to appreciate. Hardest part for me after buying mine, to resist buying accessories and lenses! Actually that has not worked well for me! Dave from TO.

Ha, ain't that the truth! I pretty much immediately bought an 18-105mm and a used 'Bigma' 50-500mm. Thankfully my wife appreciates the hobby

Hey Sharkey, I worked in Carlton Place for 6 months, and drove there from Perth to play in an industrial basketball league. I worked at Dutch Canadian Spinning Wheels, a company I can't find on the internet, so I assume they no longer exist. It was two a two man operation, they brought me in to open a production line when they needed a real cabinetmaker.

The place to go
Ontari-ari-ario.

I think he left out an "arI" but it was a while ago. I could be wrong.

Thanks a lot you guys. Now that tune will be stuck in my head for a few weeks.

(For our readers who aren't familiar with the reference, "The Ontario Song" with it's "Ontari-ari-ari-o" chorus theme was commissioned by the province for Canada's Centennial in 1967. It was played incessantly on the radio, television, and at the biggest party of all, Expo 67. Of course, the tune is now back in the minds of many citizens here, as the province is planning on replacing the motto on our automobile license plates from "Yours to Discover" to "A place to Grow." Oh no.)

Great..."A Place to Grow" anything to do with the new marijuana laws? Because we all know Mr.Ford may know something about the grow industry, sorry I digress this discussion has fallen through the "cracks". anyhow for the song in your head! A Place to Stand, Lyrics for an Ontario theme song
