Hello from Akron, OH!

Hello! I'm Will, and I'm completely new to the world of Pentax cameras and lenses. I've recently gotten into photography and upon hearing the news, my Aunt from Oklahoma sent me a bunch of her old camera gear that she used while in the US military back in the 1970's. In the package she sent me was a Pentax K2 film SLR body. A Pentax SMC 24mm f3.5 lens. A Pentax 50mm f1.7 lens. Two Vivitar lenses, one of which is a 35-85mm f2.8 & the other being a Vivitar 100-300 f5 with a Pentax x2 teleconverter. I also purchased a K-mount to Canon EOS mount adapter so I can use these lenses with my DSLR. I'm really exited to shoot with with this stuff. I've always heard good things about the Pentax brand. If anyone has any suggestions for a new film shooter please let me know! Thanks!

Welcome!
You can get a used K5D body for like $200, worth it for playing with these lenses. You can even replace the focus screen with a split-focus prism type and really use them like the old days.

Have fun!

Welcome. Nice gift. You can look up your lenses in the lens review database here. This is a very good, helpful group with a lot of knowledge and a great forum.
