Hallo from South Africa

Hallo all

It is great to finally get a Pentax forum.
I have been taking pics since i was 10, i had them all, from a K1000, ME-Super, MZ-50, *ist-Ds and now a K10D.
I tried all forms of photography, color, monochrome, slides and now finally digital. I love my Pentax equipment and will no cross the line to the C's, N's & S's. If i do have a critisism about Pentax is the availability of longer lenses 300mm+.

Apart from that photography is more than a hobby to me, it's a passion. I will definately post some pics in the future.

Thanks for this forum.

Thanx for the welcome.
It's nice to see Pentax people from SA, there are not many of us around here, but we are true to the brand.
Will post some pics very soon.

Hi from another South African (although I've been living in Indonesia for the last few months).
Can't wait to get back at the end of this month.

Welcome, Stephan,

I agree with you about the dearth of longer lenses for Pentax. Case in point is your photo of that rather irritated-looking bull elephant - I'd have been screaming for a 600mm at least!

yes we need more mm, a 400 or 500 f4 is a good start, but 600mm f4 for wildlife and sport is still the best for me. Even a 300mm f2.8 will be a good start.
