Hi from Mimi in New Jersey

I currently use a *ist Ds that has worked well for photographing my art work. I've recently started using it for night and other low light outdoor shooting. So I'm saving up for full frame, used k-1 to help me get better results.

Hi Mimi, and welcome to Pentax Forums. You’ll find there’s an enormous difference in your results, when you buy the K-1. Still, many of us on here have owned, or still own, a *istD – I certainly think of it fondly, as my introduction to serious digital photography.

Welcome to the forums

before investing in the K 1, you might want to consider renting one and run your own trials

currently LensRentals.com is running a special with 20% off if you rent by August 23

limited offer 20 % off rental from LensRental - PentaxForums.com

This is very good advice, I rented a K-1 for over a year until I could finally afford to buy a used copy here from a PF member.

New Jersey is a lovely state, once you get away from I-95. I try to get up that way every autumn for a long weekend tour from Cape May to High Point.

I look forward to seeing your pictures.

Another "Hi" from Australia, Mimi. *ist DS to K-1 will be a giant leap. You will get plenty of encouragement here. Enjoy the Forums.
