I am from California...central valley. I saw a macro pic of a jumping spider about a year ago and I thought is was very awesome and i wanted to do it myself. Then I found out that my point and shoot wouldn't work and i needed a Dslr and a Macro Lense. I tried the m-50 canon mirrorless first....too small....Returned and tried the canon T7i. kept for about 20 days and returned....Bad ergonomics and overall "cheap" feel. I love to hold my camera, and have big hands so ergonomics are important to me. Lets try the pentax k-70. I was sold before i even put the battery in. Pentax knows how to build a quality camera. It felt soooo good in my hands i did not want to put it down. I was in love and still am. From that day on, and still now i take literally hundreds of photos every day. I had to learn how to use it......and still learning. I take pic after pic...I take pictures of pictures...I love to take pictures of my cameras...I take pictures of my wall and my dresser and my bathroom counter over and over and over! eventually I could get good shots....I could go on and on. Now i'm playing with my new toy......K1-11. It goes to bed with me....to the store....to the bathroom...........I think I might have a problem!!

You would be well advised not to try too many macros of Australian snakes if you do ever get here

Welcome from another Aussie!

Welcome aboard, nice to see you have so many Pentax cameras in a year, from your pictures you have a K-70, a K-3, and a KP, and you now have a K-1ii, quite impressive William, would like to see more with that one. How do you find your 35 macro on the K-1ii, compared with on your K-3?

The 35 macro works great on the k1 ...it has some vignetting in full frame but not too much. It takes outstanding sharp pics on both. I just got the k1 about a week ago....I work for Target at the warehouse and a class action lawsuit was just settled and we all received a nice little sum of money. I decided to use mine to get the k1ii and the DA star 300mm f4. The K-70 takes outstanding images..allot of my fav pics are with it but it started having a shutter problem and became unreliable...that is why i got the K-3 used but only 3,000 shuttercount for $400. I will post more with the K-1ii.
