Greetings from Pittsburgh

Hello, all. I've been using Pentax products since I "borrowed" my dad's Spotmatic when I was in high school in the late 1970s in Murfreesboro, Tennessee. Worked my way through college and burned through a lot of film working for school publications in Nashville. Eventually graduated with a BA in photography and art from Southern Illinois University at Carbondale. I was a public school art teacher for 17 years in Atlanta, teaching traditional darkroom photography as well as drawing, painting, and other art classes. Moved to Pittsburgh in 2006 and have been enjoying cooler summers ever since. Don't miss the darkroom, but have never liked the battery dependence of digital, even though I've been shooting it for the last 13 years.

Welcome to the forum, shame on you not missing fumbling about in the dark, the smells and stained fingers from the chemicals ... I mean no one ever used the rings do they.

Another welcome from NZ!

Its been years since I have developed any B&W film and I was never overly skilled at it. But I certainly see the attraction of film and still have a ME Super (that has not been used since I have had the K-1!).

Many forum members started in the darkroom and switched to digital. Some of us use both techniques still

Welcome to the forums! Ditching the film but keep the lenses, not a bad way to do it

G'day mate and welcome to the forum

I have a Spotmatic F with 50mm f1.4, it is a fun camera to use, and it is great not having to worrry about how the image looks eg. looking at the back lcd all the time on a digital camera.
