Rob, welcome from New Zealand!

I have a K-5 and a K-1. With my K-1 I have avoided getting the DFA 24-70 and DFA 15-30 as (apart from cost) I know they won't always be in my back as weight is a factor for me (as I tend to walk everywhere with my gear).

I have ended up with the 3 FA ladies (31, 43 and 77) and very happy with them (and nearly always in my bag). But that said if primes don't suit you then the DFA are probably the way to go.

The primes on the K1 are great, I have the 43 and 77. but I shoot a lot of music, circus sideshow events so I like the convenience of the zooms.
