Hi from a Newbie

Hi All

I am sure I will enjoy the forum.

It is my wife who primarily uses the camera, so please don't ask me to many questions.

Heidi (SWMBO) took my camera over in the early 90's with a Pentax P30n. I think her words were I take crap photos :-)

Before moving through a couple of MZ-50's to a MZ-60 before going digital with the K10.

She now has a K3, and today for her birthday I just purchased a Sigma 18-250 mm lens. We have had a couple of these lenses including a Sigma 18-200, Pentax 18-250 and currently have a Pentax 18-270.

The main reason for the change is the slow focus. Most of the time it is not too much of an issue, as we tend to do a lot of landscape and
high light photos. (Australia is always sunny) but she has also taken to children photos and some nature shots. None of these stay still long enough.

I guess now she has the new lens, when it is time to update another Pentax will be on the cards. Shame as I work for Canon Medical and get great deals on their camera gear.

So most of the time I will be lurking in the shadows.

Regards
Danny

do your best to resist the dark side and stay away from canon and the like

remember SWMBO has that nickname for a reason

Brisbane, well Logan City, Daisy Hill.

About 30 minutes to the Brisbane and 40 minutes from the Gold Coast. Best of both worlds really.
