Hello Forum Members,

I am a budding photographer living in Atlanta GA, and am happy to be here as a member of your community. I do not currently own any Pentax cameras, and will soon buy one, however my main interest is in using the SMC lenses (particularly the 50mm 1.4 or 85mm 1.8) with an adapter on my Sony camera.

Outside of photography I am a writer, dancer, lover, and yogi. I will share an excerpt from one of my favorite poems by a writer named Kahlil Gibran, on the topic of love:

But if in your fear you would seek only
love’s peace and love’s pleasure,
Then it is better for you that you cover
your nakedness and pass out of love’s
threshing-floor,
Into the seasonless world where you
shall laugh, but not all of your laughter,
and weep, but not all of your tears.

Love is not meant to always be pretty, or perfect. We would neglect the fullest expression of love if we would limit it to only its pleasurable moments. Love encompasses our sorrow, our tears, just as much as our laughter. It sweetens our human experience, no matter how dark or bright. Love no matter the circumstance.

Another "Hi" from Australia. You have an interesting introduction. Many of us like SMC lenses but some of us go back further to the old M42 mount Super Takumar glass. The Super Takumar 55/1.8 is very sharp and can be had for just a few dollars. But the holy grail is the more expensive Super Takumar 50/1.4 (8-element version). One of those could open up a whole new world on your Sony.
