Thanks all.
Yeah, I can't wait.
Thanks Ross. I've read quite a lot of the Kiwi thread. Seems like a nice vibrant community.
I've just dug out the old SF7 to confirm which Tokina Lenses I have. Looks like I made a half decent choice back in the day.
I've got the
Tokina AF SD 28-70mm f3.5-4.5 and the
Tokina AF 70-210mm f4.0-5.6 which both are fairly favourably reviewed in the
Third-Party Lens Reviews.
I do remember I opted for the Tokina lenses as they were cheaper than the Pentax lenses. A mate of mine also got an SF7 about the same time and he opted for the Pentax lenses. I think they were Pentax FA series lenses. I should ask him if he still has them.

Ah, the good old Wanaka tree.
Did you have to shoulder your way through a phalanx of tourists and instagrammers to get a pic?
It really is an amazing place though. I live in the North Island and the landscapes are just so different. I went to Wanaka and Queenstown on my honeymoon (a long time ago now, 25 years to be exact) and one of the lasting memories I have was hiking up to a lookout over Lake Wanaka. Absolutely breathtaking. I think it may have been Diamond Lake/Rocky mountain lookout.
Going to Singapore in January. Looking forward to some great photographic opportunities.
