Pentax K50 manual setting

I am having a problem with my manual setting which seems to default to Tav whenever I put it on manual. I wonder if anyone else has had this problem or if I need to replace some software?
Any help much appreciated.

If you have Auto-ISO on while in M mode, the camera shows it as TAv on the screen, as that's what it effectively is. You're setting shutter speed and aperture, and the camera chooses the ISO. It shows that it's in Manual mode when you select an ISO value.

Thanks so much. I feel like an idiot for not realising that was the reason. Very grateful for the advice
Best wishes

Welcome. No reason to feel like an idiot. They have so many settings they cause things like this. I've seen it many times. There are more of these kinds of gotchas out there. Keep on posting here, we are your goto place for answers like that!
