Hi there, my son has a Pentax p50 and really wants a shutter release cable. Any ideas on which type is compatible with this camera?
Many thanks
Chantelle

Welcome to the forum.

That may be the wired remote for the MEII winder or Motordrive-A (these two are different).

The camera takes a normal mechanical release in the socket about 5 o'clock on the lens mount (seen from the front). This is the type that used to screw into the shutter release socket on the top.

The camera uses one like this:

Welcome to the Pentax Forums! As noted above, the camera takes a standard threaded cable release. If you don't have a copy of the manual, a free copy (pdf) may be downloaded from the Pentax Manuals Web site.
