Hello to everyone!

I bought my first Pentax in december 2017, a K1. I always struggled with it after being an OMD-guy for some time. Handling it seemed like a step backward in time compared to a small and convenient OMD and I have to admit, that I often thought of selling this big tank. Than, somehow, at the end of last year I realised that my best photos in the last two years were all made with my K1. This was when I finally saw the potential in this fine camera. I really love my Pentax now! I keep "schlepping" it along when hiking, but I know why now ...

Wilkommen! Having only incidentally played with the K-1, I can assure you that it is indeed a formidable piece of technology (and that it is significantly heavier than my K-50). Good to hear that you like it!

K1 is well worth schlepping around. Airports are little fun if you carry laptop, iPad, phone, K1, ... but images pay back for it. Similar for hiking, a FF DSLR adds extra weight. Just stay away from getting a travel camera, as it will kill the one and only camera you need.

Another welcome from Australia. Good to hear that the K-1 is doing the right thing for you. There is nothing like a really good DSLR to make any other option seem second best.
