Pentax K1000 35mm

I came across a Pentax k1000 in the late 80's. I learned most of my beginning photography skills from this particular camera
and my daughter just became interested in photography this last year or so. I finally showed her my old Pentax last year, and
she just used it as subject for photo project in a class she is taking.
Which for different reason brought up the question how old is it? I saw that the serial # which started off with 80XXXX is 1987
or so. My camera's # starts off with 78xxxxx. Does anyone have a clue how to find the approximate year it was manufactured?
Thanks mphealey

Welcome to the forum. I am unaware of such a resource. Perhaps some one will find one for you.
