Best Pentax MX camera repair?

I have an old Pentax MX film camera with a 50mm F/1.4 and a 200mm f4.0 that I love. I am planning to add an LX and some more lens eventually. But the Pentax MX needs serious repair work now. I love the camera. But the mirror does not return at most of the shutter speeds (it works better at 1/1000 and 1/500) And the shutter doesn't fire on the first try, most of the time. I want to get it fixed. I don't want to spend more than $350.00. And I don't want to throw it away. I want the best repair facility I can find to do the work. Any ideas?

you could call

Phototronic

119 NE US Highway 24
Topeka KS 66608

785 233 0231

http://www.phototronictopeka.com/

he runs a one man shop opened only in the afternoon M-F and he is not, by his own admission, the world fastest

he advises you to keep calling him to check on the progress of the repair

he does Vintage to Digital Camera Repairs with free estimates [ he does not sell equipment ]

If you want to try him out, please call him first

*************** he is not a licensed Pentax repair shop *********************
