Greetings from the Shetland Isles

Hi All, Stuck in 13 week shielding at present, so decided to push the button, buy a decent camera and take the time to learn how to take “proper” photographs, rather than compact auto. So just waiting for SRS Microsystems to process my order tomorrow for a K-70 and 18-135mm Lens. Spent a lot of time deciding which camera suits my needs best and thanks to all who post to this forum as your varied and helpful posts helped make up my mind.
Living where I do, surrounded by stupendous landscapes and diverse wildlife, I can’t believe it has taken me this long to decide on getting into photography as a serious hobby.
Looking forward to participating when my new camera arrives (May be some time at the moment I suppose).

Hi and welcome from Aberdeen, I lived on Shetland for 6 years a long long time ago just before the oil boom. I know what you mean regarding landscape and wildlife. I've recently seen some YouTube videos of Lerwick and surrounds - what a change in the past 45+ years!
