Hello. My sincere thanks to all who make this site/forum work. What an incredible collection of data, knowledge and practical experience. I'll bet many will relate to this - my interest in photography was rekindled recently after physically fiddling with an old Ricoh SLR, which cost me $5, at a local thrift shop. I had been thinking about spending 2K on a new Nikon or Canon system (hooked by their excellent marketing), but curiosity about the dusty old Ricoh led me to this site's resources. When I learned about breadth of lens compatibilities, I dove in and bought a used K3 digital camera and have had a absolute blast re-experiencing photography in the digital age. With your introduction, I recognized myself, in 2006-2007, with the same thoughts when I bought my first digital Pentax. For the photography type most of us do, Pentax has a lot to offer (and to learn).

It’s funny to see how lots of people fall into the «*marketing*trap*» (salesman speach) that you just escaped.
I wonder why some do not get into the same way of thinking. May be the sales commission on Pentax equipment sold was not on par with the other brands.
