G'day from the Land Down Under

[SIZE="4"][SIZE="5"]Greeting to Pentaxians worldwide

I'm a Pentax tragic having brought my first Spotmatic in 1969 and stuck with Pentax 35mm and digital cameras over the years. I still shoot 35mm film in Spotmatics, ME, K2, ME Super ESPIO and LX. In digital I shoot ist*, Q7, K10D and K7.

What surprises me is that in the 1970s-90s, my friends laughed because I shot with a Pentax rather than a N*3!%+ and now they are seeking Pentax K mount lenses for their digital cameras.

Rural Victoria could be anywhere from Mildura to Portland to Mallacoota. Where in the triangle are you? Curious minds need to know

Welcome from another bloody Australian - from Stirling, in the Adelaide Hills.

Welcome to the forum from the Highlands of Scotland (that's on the other side of the World).

They are only now just staring to recognise good glass.

Hi there, welcome to the forum.

I would be wary of calling anyone using a K mount lens on a full frame Canon DSLR a friend. You can mount the lens with a cheap adapter. There is a dark secret, however. The aperture lever gets in the way of the mirror. Canon owners cut/grind/snap off the lever to prevent damage to their precious bodies. You could cut a notch in the mirror, but nobody does that. The diaphragm of such a lens will never work properly on a Pentax body again. There is no easy way to undo the mod either.
