Hello Pentax friends,

My girlfriend just gifted me a Pentax K1000 with a 50mm f/2 and 28mm f/3.5 for my birthday and I am the happiest kid of the lagoon.

I am going out and shoot my first roll today.

When this pandemic is over, and I mean well over, The Chief of Staff wants to visit Greece and Italy. I have a new K1 ii, with a 50 mm f1.4 and a 28 to 105 mm zoom lens. It is heavy enough. Should I bring along a tripod or leave it home. Is the K1 ii good enough to take travel, scenery, astro photos without a tripod. Or should I bring a lightweight tripod. Any comments welcome.

I suggest you to take a look at these amazing tripods from Gitzo, they are a bit pricy but you will never have to buy another one, perfect for travelling:

My Facebook has just finished reminding me that three years ago I was in Venice (and later in other parts of Italy) on our last international holiday before we had kids... Seems like last week

Certainly a beautiful place. I'd love to go back and take more pictures, especially on film.

FP4+ is an absolutely superb film, one the very best.
