Thanks for the peek!

A project maybe of interest 29 Versions of the 55mm Asahi Takumar M42 Screw Mount Lenses

There are lots of similarities, but also differences. Both lenses are a sort of mirror image of each other. I don't know what to think about the OEM suggestion. I would like to see the glass parts and their curvatures and composition as well to determine whether one is 5 cm and the other 55 mm focal distance.

Me too. I'd compare the M42 Yashinon 1:2/55 with Auto-Takumar 1:2/55, however.

There is ongoing debate here Takumar Field Guide

I agree with comment there "The Auto-Yashinon lenses were manufactured by Asahi Optical Company factory makes more sense?"

Also, the site Takumar Field Guide - Blog is best I've seen so far.

The discussion contains several misconceptions, such as the suggestion about the lens mount being different. Yashica at that time had the simple M42 mount cameras and lenses, not the later bayonet mount. They also don't take the difference in focal length and the glass element curves not into account. I will contact the Takumar Field Guide people to ask them what they think of it. Me, I am not (yet) convinced about Asahi Optical being the manufacturer of both lenses, nor outsourcing production to Tomioka.

I'm also very interested in Your book.
In my 'manual bag' are a lot of old M42 Taks and diverse other manual lenses from the 60s/70s.
Will the book be available online? I'm from germany and doubt that it'll be available at bookstores.

Once the book is available, you can order it strait from me. It will not be available in bookstores. Online there is too much risk of illegal copying.
