New old Spotmatic purchase

Friends,

I was recently successful in purchasing an early Spotmatic body on ebay, # 1259229. It is in excellent condition with only minor scuffs on bottom. I waited several weeks for batteries to arrive after purchasing some Ilford B&W 125 speed film. Today I was able to take photos of our meetinghouse and some of the oldest graves (1745, 1757, 1808) here in Philadelphia. It has been years since I used film cameras. I also have an HV3 and several lenses. The regular lens used today is the Super Takumar 1.4 that I used on the older Pentax in past. It is nice to have used the meter as conditions changed frequently with the clouds. I am looking forward to the results with relatively fine grain film. I will register my cameras and lenses next.

Welcome, make sure to post some of those photos here. Old tombstones can be very interesting. I transcribed a couple of small cemeteries 35-40 years ago and now some of those stones are broken and some are illegible. Unfortunately that seems to happen with marble and even worse with sandstone, which I have seen a few. Nature takes a toll faster than we realize. Congrats on the Spotmatic ebay score, may it serve you well.

Yes, the marble stones degrade faster than some of the more common field stone markers used in the 1700's and early 1800's, though lichens have covered some of the dates. It may be awhile before I get the film developed but I will try to post some. Thanks.
