Hi - I'm new ! and WOW ... ;

Hi all. I've used tons of cameras ! BUT ; in a pawn shop very recent … I purchased a K-x with DAL18-50 for $100
No lodgical reason to , BUT...
I also of recent purchased a DAL 50-200,AND a DA 35 f3.4,AND a DA 50-ALL for great prices … AND the DA 12-24 great shape for $300 , BUT ;

Met a guy on the streets of Medford OR ...heavy into Pentax … long story short =

I messaged him (facebook)…; that ; Pentax is SO good -love the gentle colors and the KILLER sharpness, BUT ; I added "I am now ashamed I own anything else !"
That's a big statement !

I am ; Like-a V1 Larry ; equ = 3 Nikon V1's and like 10+ manual focus lenses, and of recent I added AF 6.7-13mm wide = 18-35 super fantastic lens ,10-30,30-110,18.5, and 10mm.
I like to think I use my V1 like a Leica.

A ways back I owned 24 digital cameras at once. Since 2005 I have had over 200.

Back to now,so I of recent picked up this Pentax outfit - Now I like to think of myself as owning 2 outfits BUT ;

I have also picked up ; a canon s90 , Canon SX20 only because I got it at the same pawn shop for $35 , Panasonic ZS25 WOW what a great camera ,and a deal on 2 top cond. Panasonic LX3's one with the wide converter - and it's SO good - I'm KEEPING both(I was going to sell one to make the purchase real cheap.And to boot - with converter seems QUITE good in corners.And NEX sony - I have a beautiful NEX3N awaiting the 9th BEST lens for NEX .!
Worst camera is the SX20...and it's good !

So - I got into Pentax by happenstance ! And I like it more than the Pro 1 I had. (Fuji),AND better than ALL my other camera including the V1's - I should say - it's better than the V1's - but I actually like the V1 more. Much more. BUT the Pentax is MUCH better.

I photo EVERYDAY. I'm on day 346 of my 'PhotoWalk2020' … I blog and photo's every night by midnight ...last 2 nights I posted like 70 pics each night.

It's a hard life! - I photo all day , process all evening and post by midnight -RAIN or shine,WIND and COLD.

I'll try to post a photo - I think I took the first day out … with the 18-50 ...it focuses CLOSE !

Oh - my 2 fav. lenses for my Like-a are ; Ricoh 35-70 f3.5 YES! the RARE one … that scores a 10 sharpness. And My loved Nikon 45mm f2.8 GN

Like-a V1 Larry * OK - I see I have to downsize my shot

Welcome. The K-x was what got me into Pentax as well. I really appreciated the excellent high ISO capabilities.

Wow - thank you all and Hello ! I don't know how to post pics yet - tried 2 times … but soon enough.
Is the K-x fairly good ? I have a M- low milage K-50 on the way - BUT decided to keep the K-x as my backup.
My photo is with in limits - I think I have to donate to post pics ?

Hi Larry
If you are a site supporter you should be able to post (at least that is as far as I know). But go to the Forum Home page, scroll down to "Photo Sharing and Galleries" and open "Post Your Photos". You should be able to work it out from there. If you have Flickr or similar account, you may be able to connect to that to post pics. I don't use that. This is what I do and it may help you:

At the top right of your screen, click on the "My Account" drop down menu.
Towards the bottom of that, click on "Edit Albums".
Now you will be able to create an album and upload images to it from your computer (I resize them so that they will be screen sized. It saves space in your album.)
When you go into "Post your Photos" and click on "Start New Thread" you will be asked for image and equipment details (if you have more than one image, select the most representative data and add more info in the message if necessary). Then, after you have typed a bit about the image or images you will see (down at the bottom) the button to attach photos. You will probably be able to work it out from there. But a word of caution - when you open an album to attach an image, only click on the image ONCE. Every click will attach another copy of the image!) You can add info between different images.
Let me know if you are still having trouble.
Peter

To the OP: Guess I'm a bit too curious and feel compelled to ask... Larry E30... is it that there are 29 Larry E's that came before you? ...or is it by any chance E30 as in that of the four wheeled variant?

Hi Larry, @PJ1 gave a very good explanation of posting images from either Flickr, or from your gallery or albums you have created.
At the top of each page of the different forums, there are " Sticky's " which are descriptions of what and how to post in each forum.
In the Post Your Photo forum, there is a Sticky on how to post images. The link is below. Looking forward to seeing your pix. Good luck.
