Hola.

Just a quick into. Basically, I've been drooling over beautiful pictures of beautiful things all of my life, and I've decided that it's time to make some of my own. I have some money to put into equipment these days, and I'm not getting any younger. I can see that I have a lot to learn.

I chose the K-70 (with the 18-135mm) for my starter camera/lens combo for a couple of reasons:

A. It's weather-resistant (I'm going to be spending much of my time in the outdoors, and the water-resistance has already been valuable, and)...

B: I can reasonably afford it =)

Some of the subjects I'm looking forward to shooting are: nature scenes (I've in the northeast US; there's plenty of attractive nature up here), IR (I've been fascinated by the other-worldliness of infrared photography since I was very young), planes/trains/automobiles of all types, underwater scenes (which I won't be able to do with the K-70, of course) and gorgeous women. That's really just a smattering; looking back over all of the photographs I've seen and admired over the years gives me almost infinite permutations and combinations of subjects to consider.

Welcome, be sure to check out the mini challenge section, there are a lot of ongoing challenges based on your interests, it’s a good way to share and get inspired. I’m with you 100% on weather resistant gear, so many opportunities would have been missed if I had to get out of the rain or snow.
