Welcome to the Forums from the U.S., make yourself at home. The K-70 is a very capable camera with some great IQ. Have a look here Pentax K-70 - Pentax K-mount DSLRs - Pentax Camera Reviews and Specifications for the official review and user reviews. Again welcome.

Welcome to the forum, Maurice. The only thing I would suggest is to also consider the Pentax KP as an option. For most people, the decision between the two models hinges (yup, yup) on whether they want a fully articulating display like the K-70 has, or up/down articulation (KP) is enough for them. If the latter, consider the KP because it has advantages in other areas - too many to list here.

Knowing your budget will help, and whether you plan to keep some spare money for lens purchases (I realise as a istD owner, you have at least one lens already).

In case you want to cast your net a little wider, here's a quick graphical feature overview of recent models (only the K-S1 is missing, but it's broadly similar to the K-S2, sans weather sealing and articulating display):

Buy it or win it. Either way you won't regret the decision.

Welcome from Australia, being in London you should have no excuse for having nothing to take photos of!
