New Guy

While I am not new to photography I am new to the Pentax camera system. I am a long time Nikon user (both film and digital formats) and have taught photography at the base Photo Hobby Shop at Yokota Air Base, Japan. Before leaving Japan the 2nd time I purchased a Pentax ME Super along with a couple of lenses for my father. Dad was not a budding photographer but wanted something he could grab and go and get passable results without having to attend classes or do a lot of reading about how to take pictures.

A few months ago I found dad's ME Super and it was still in working condition! I installed a new battery and was amazed with this little tiny 35mm camera. I shelved the Nikons and started taking images using the ME Super. I was totally blown away with how easy this camera was to use. Over the next several months I procured some additional lenses and a power winder.

I now have a 2nd ME Super body and a total of 6 lenses and life is good. I shoot a lot of film in addition to digital images. I really like the tiny ME Super not only for it's performance but its diminutive size and light weight. The ME body and a couple of lenses weighs much less than my Nikon film gear. The ME Super is a pleasure to use and the results are great.

Hello Peter:
While I have never been to VK land, I have always wanted to go. I have some ham radio friends from "down under" and it is always a pleasure to talk (via Morse Code) with them using 5 watts or less of RF power.

Hope we can meet up one day.

Rich

Welcome! That's awesome. I've played with only but a few M42 mounts on my digital body K5iis. Although I recently parted with a Super ME... yeah, kinda regret it.
