I own some 4 FD lenses and would be able to use these with the K-70. I shoot mostly in manual so the electronic connectors would be of no account. As a traveling camera, the reason for which I want the k-70, the use of the electronic communication can be nice. My problem is economic, a good travel lens for the camera would set me back some $500 t0 $600. I will look at the Fotodiox adapter. Thank you.
You're most welcome.

I am essentially a Canon shooter an I own two Canionfull frame cameras, an EOS 6Das well as a mirrorless EOS R and a respectable although eclectic collection of Canon glass. I am looking to purchase a reasonably priced apsc camera and have good memories of the Pentax equipment I've owned in the past. In fact I still have a couple of 35mm film Pentax cameras. I don't require much and the K-70 looks like a good choice. My main concern is my ability to use my Canon glass. Any thing you can advise is greatly appreciated.
Welcome to the Forum and nice choice on those Canons...
If you're looking for a good deal on a piece of Pentax gear, I just got a K-7 body from a reputable source for under $200 (K-7 is a 14.6mp aps-c sensor with video capacity.)

Look around because the K-5 and K-3's are starting to come down in the used equipment market as well.

The best part is... even if you find a nice Super Takumar 50mm f1.4 manual prime (from the 1970's)... in manual, you can still use it all the way up to the Full frame k-1

Cheers!

I have no answer regarding your Canon glass but will tell you the K70 is a very nice camera. I just picked up one last year. I love it.

Regarding the FD lenses (I own some), I use them on my K-70 with an old Kenlock adapter. Got it from a local camera store at a low price. It gets the job done, but I see some really frustrating "glow" in wide open apertures f2 or lower). I think the corrective element works fine.

Welcome to the forum. Also came from Canon. Used to have the K70, and it was a great camera (bought a K1 at a crazy good price recently, wouldn't have changed otherwise). Had it in snow, rain, storm, it is reliable, includes all you need (love the astrotracer, because I don't have enough time to go full time AP), menues are well-sorted, and the grip is great, all at a great price. The only consideration, the KP is not much more expensive, but the autofocus system feels more refined, if that is a concern. As people mentioned, there is a plethora of adapters, where Fotodiox still seems the best amongst them. Enjou your time with whatever new camera you get.

Welcome to the forum, Juan. As Mark has said, the back focal distance on Canon EF and RF lenses is too short for them to be used with infinity focus on Pentax cameras.
