Been a while

Just coming back to reading the forum and thought I’d introduce myself. My first camera was a K1000. Had an *ist, K10, and now a K50, which sadly is failing, so I’m looking to check out the camera lineup. So anyway, hi to all. -linda

Welcome from South Africa, Linda. I'm sure you will find the right Pentax camera at the right price point for you.
Best.

Welcome Linda, does your K-50 have aperture block failure? If so it will still work on manual lenses with an aperture ring. Natural steps up from the K-50 are the K-70, K-3 series, K1, and KP. The K-70 can suffer from aperture block failure, but not the KP and K-3 series. There will be a new K-3 model coming out next year, but it will be pretty pricey at first anyway. The K-1II and KP are the newest current models being manufactured right now. You can check out the camera comparison chart to compare features. I think some of the cameras are on sale right now at B&H, Adorama, and Amazon, but I'm not sure how good the deals are because I'm not looking, I'm very happy with my KP..

Hello Linda and welcome! The K-50 is a hell of a camera, and you can find second hand ones for a bargain on line, just make sure they dont have the aperture problem. If you want to upgrade though, the K-70 is the logical choice, similiar ergonomics and functions, but better overall quality.

you will find friendly members and a lot of knowledge here

if you want assistance in finding a Pentax camera

you will get a lot of it

check out the reviews under " cameras " and the camera side by side comparison tool you will find there

if interested in buying " experienced " equipment, look under " buy/sell " where you can find the marketplace which can be sorted by country

Welcome back from Tennessee, Linda. You have plenty of great models to select from. Tough part is deciding on just one.
