Hello from a new member

I've watched the site for a while because I have been thinking about upgrading from my KS-2.

I had my first Pentax Spotmatic in the 1970's and also bought an ES2 both of which I still own. My first digital Pentax was a K200D which I also still have. I was thinking about another Pentax until the aperture failure affected my KS-2 and as it failed at my youngest son's wedding I'm a bit off Pentax at the moment!

The KS-2 has been fixed under warranty, but I've read a lot about repeated failures..... Interestingly it's come back with a noise, like the one referred to here

I've asked the retailer about the sound and was told that it's a normal feature of the repair, an explanation which I'm suspicious about.

Suppose I should post this issue elsewhere, only intended to say hello!

Welcome to the Forums! Most of the repeat failures I've read about were not from repairs under warranty, but the repair should not cause a sound that was not there before. I guess I would challenge them on that explanation.
