took this from my hallway window - we back onto fields on a hillside, using a cheap £10 Tonika SD 80-210mm lens, it's on manual focus, and have figured out the camera still helps with focus by beeping.
@bertrand3000 from what you explained, I'm assuming this isn't the best lens, but for a start it'll do. i will look for a pentax in future, think they go up to 300mm I might be wrong.

Your outdoor shots are stunning! This is where the CCD sensor really shines!

Thank you!
I was pleased, as had way too much sun out the front - and had to work out what to do with the new lens, so a load of pictures deleted. But got better. I love plants and sea / landscapes. Am lucky where I live. I occasionally get a bee or pollinator on flowers in the summer, so perhaps I'll be able to do that on the Pentax by next year.

This I was happy with - with the exception of the slope up from my garden meant the field edging could be seen. I did like the sun on the tree though.

I'll be looking out for your panoramic advice in time. and how to import Raw, I've never used proper photo processing software. so another area to learn. The most I've used is a phone version call Snapseed, and instagram.
Panoramics are really easy compared to real image editing: For me anyway. I open an image editing app and I'm instantly lost
Here's what I shot today:

And there's a whole thread just on panoramics: Panorama-orama - Post your Panos - PentaxForums.com

160+ pages, spread over 10 years: film, phone, DSLR, mirrorless etc etc, it's all there.

K100D super was my first camera. I sold it and I regret it every day since. If you want a nifty fifty look no further than the dirty cheap but still new and high quality Pentax DA 50 f/1,8
eBay success tonight = Nifty 50 is on it's way thanks for the tip - am going to flip it around and try some macro with it too. Should do well for my plants / flowers that I like to do as well with good bokeh.

You want to try macro with the DA 50 F1.8? Its magnification is not great though, only 0.15x. If you want to try macro, your current 18-55 has a magnification of 0.34x, which is much more suitable. What you -can- do with the DA 50 F1.8 is a dreamful bokeh though, and low-light photography!

Enjoy your new lens
