Hi,
I have been into photography for many years but the lack of funds have
prevented me from ever getting a DSLR until this year.
My brother on the other hand being older than me and having more income
bought the Pentax iST* (?) quite some time ago. He let me use it
a few times and then I got hooked.
I quickly saved up and ordered off eBay a K110d. The lowest model
cheapest camera I could find.
I lucked out and they sent me a K100D with the IS! wow I couldn't believe
my luck. So i got this kit camera with the standard DA 18-50 for 350 Canadian dollars!
Before my SLR days I have been shooting sunsets a lot and mainly scenery.
I am a car fanatic, my passion is for cars. When I got my K100D I immediately
began shooting my own car as well as my friends cars.
The car community shooters usually have lots of $$ to throw around. Most
have 3 or 4 lenses sporting things like 40D's and and multiple rig set ups.
Me being poor means all I have is a broken tripod and my camera and multiple
1gig cards. haha
I recently purchased a used Tamron 18-250 when I went to Japan for a few days. This was perfect as I will be going to Macau for the Macau GP to see my buddy race and hope to get some good shots. I got the Tammy for a quite a good deal, but unfortunate the Yen is so high. I still saved over quite a bit over a new lens though.
I am currently located in Hong Kong. I go back and forth often between Canada (Toronto side) and Hong Kong/Guangzhou China as my family resides in China and I went to school/worked in Canada.
It's good to have found this forum I hope I can learn more.
I have been practicing my panning which is vital for car photography.
Big intro. Lots of reading, so I'll throw in some pics.
First three with the tammy. The others with the DA 18-50
Thanks!
