New to the forum

Hello all! I'm new to the Pentax Forum, and really just stumbled across it when Googling (a word??) lens reviews. I've recently gotten back into photography, and discovered how much I enjoy using older lenses with newer DSLRs. I've got a Canon 80d, but most of my lens collection (that I actually use) consist of Super-Takumars! I'm still on the hunt for more, but have enjoyed what I have so far.

What other Pentax lenses would you recommend? I tend to shoot most anything, though I lean towards landscapes.

Thanks!

Welcome to the forum. I got here just like you. Through lens reviews. There are people here who will be happy to help you. I often notice that the SMC Pentax-F 28mm 2.8 is praised, but your crop factor will not allow it to fully open. Although this is not a hindrance to many. Welcome again.

If older lenses, then it might be some hit or miss. If you are not sure where to look, what to ask... Of course, except those cases that you can try with your hands on, then you can grab almost any depending on your preferences. Both Pentax and 3d party.

Welcome to the community Mikey. Although I don't own one, Takumars are highly recommended in here. I'll soon find out why, myself.

Welcome to the forums.

For landscapes, if you already have some wider Takumars, why not pick up a full frame body to make full use of those lenses - since you are familiar with Canon already and a K-1 might be a bit too expensive, I know the 5D mk I and II are going for pretty low prices, and even the original 6D seems to be quite affordable in the used market as well.

You could also pick up a Spotmatic and shoot with some film!

Have fun and don't forget to share your results!

The plan is to get a Sony a7III early next year as I want the IBIS and general overall ability to adapt to other lenses.
