Hello from Melbourne.

My name is Rod.
I'm thrilled to be getting back into Pentax - after many years. As you might have guessed, I'm based in Melbourne Australia.
Many years ago my father (who has just moved into Aged Care - hence clearing out his house) was regularly travelling to Japan on business. One trip he brought back a Pentax KM to replace his Contiflex camera. The rest as they say his history. This led me to fall in love with Photography and consequently get a job in Melbourne's top lab and studio - as well as a stint in minilabs and computer graphics. Had a full darkroom at home.
I was the proud owner of the following. Sadly most have long gone. I do have a Pentax K-r. Mostly my son using this now.
Though I did find my old Pentax 24mm f2.8 and my old 400mm f5.6 Soligor.
The good news is that I'd recently purchased a full-frame digital camera and the infamous 50mm f1.4 Takumar. Wow lens.

I've joined the groups as I'm approaching retirement age and looking to see if photography can fulfill the void. Pleased to say that it definitely can - and it's vintage lenses and bokeh that is leading me there. Also considering a Pentax 645 and getting back into film.
