Wow - what a coincidence! I've been working primarily with third-party minolta and Canon FD lenses as well.

I recently lost a tiny spring from a 300mm Tokina f5.6 (Canon FD mount), so my efforts have not always been going completely smoothly...
Luckily, I have so far been able to recover all of the small parts I have dropped, but every time I tell myself that I have to slow down and be more careful and more organized. I wonder what it will take for me to finally take my own advice.

Hello to Everyone!

I've been lingering around reading forum posts for a while now, so I thought I should finally create an account and contribute to the community.

I own three pieces of Pentax-branded gear—an early-1980s K1000 that my mother bought new, an SMC Pentax-A 50mm f/1.7 that came with that camera, and an SMC Pentax-M 80-200mm f/4.5 that I bought second-hand for about $10 a few years back. I haven't done a lot of film photography during the past decade, so I've been using this vintage glass on my micro 4/3 Panasonic G80 through a cheap-but-functional adapter.

I've been trying to "upskill" in lens cleaning in repair during the past year, so you may find me contributing to discussions in that area of the forum (or asking for help and advice, more likely!), but I also hope to share a few photos with the community at some stage!
Welcome to the forum from Spain! I too have the SMC Pentax-A 50mm f/1.7 which I use on my K-70.

The SMC 50mm is a great lens for film or digital. I picked up a SMC 50mm 1.4 about a year ago and it gives nice sharp focus with wonderful Bokeh. I've been using AF for several years now so the manual focus sometimes gives me trouble. Then, that may be due to my aging eyes and changing visual acuity. Still a very nice lens.

It's so nice though to use a manual lens again as it takes me back to the film camera era! I still have an ME Super and an LX. Amongst other lenses that I have is a 100mm M Macro SMC lens that has a gorgeous focus ring that goes on and on (or round and round)!
