Photography is great

I started taking photos when I was 11. I went to local London County Council photography classes when I was 16. I learned a lot, including how to develop photos. Took some photos of my flatmate with a towel wrapped round her top. Then realised if I cut a keyhole out of cardboard I could develop the photos through the keyhole. I drove from Scotland to London with the photos hanging across by back seat with string. Father of flatmate said they were best photos ever taken of her, and he took them all!
The only interesting one recently was of a sink hole.
I live in North France, near Boulogne and Calais.

Welcome to the forums from Central New York (closer to Canada than the city). It looks like you have been here a while, even though this is your first post. Anyway, I hope you have found the forums helpful (there are a lot of knowledgeable folks here), and looking forward to seeing more posts.

Welcome! I too started when I was about that age, without a clue how to work my parents camera but with a sense of duty that the dragonfly should have a photo.

Well I assume the photos of the father's daughter were tasteful, otherwise yikes!

Had to agree with the thread title - nice first post - it's worth getting back in touch with what first excited us about this great medium - welcome from Wales!

I would venture to say that photography is not only great, but that it is sometimes the best. Welcome!
