You said you received a K-x from friend, are you still using it or have you upgraded to something new? I have two K-x and they are very adequate cameras. My recent upgrade was to a K70, for more MP and a few new bells and whistles on it.

Welcome to the forums!

Thanks for posting a link to your website in your signature... I'm a GIS analysts for the US Forest service, and I did a bit of civil and environmental CADD earlier in my career for DOD, DOE and commercial clients - some interesting parallels there! I'll be looking forward to your contributions here at PentaxForums.

Thank you, I'll be around, but I don't generally have a lot of time to be social between work and spending time outdoors.

I'm receiving my new K-5 today actually because of how much time I spend outdoors and will be moving my 16-85 Lens over to that.

Welcome! This forum has been invaluable to me over the past decade+ of shooting Pentax. And has caused me to spend lots of money. But there is so much helpful information and friendly people. Have fun with your new K-5! Great camera!!!

Welcome from a neighbor in Big Sky Country. As far as the camera making good pictures goes, it ain't necessarily so. It's guy behind the camera that makes the picture.
