Finally taking plunge into the Forum, from No. Michigan

I've been a Pentax user for decades, starting with an ME-Super film, to a Kr, K3, K1 and next week, a K3 III ! For past several years started volunteer work with Raptor Migration and taking photos of the birds and that amazing natural spectacle while helping Hawk Counters here on the Straits of Mackinac between Michigan's two peninsulas. I also enjoy railroading, both prototypical and scale model.

Wow congrats on the K-3 iii. definitely not in the market for a new camera but I told myself I'd go K-1 ii instead of the k3iii before but now seeing all the reviews and articles I might change my mind about my new camera in a couple of years.

Welcome to the forums!

I've heard that Mackinac is a beautiful area, and it's great that you're using your photographic powers for the forces of good. Looking forward to seeing some photos!

Thanks to all for the welcomes. My K-3 III Black Kit arrived this afternoon. Raining, so I had time to update firmware before taking first pic. Now to set user modes to my liking and head out tomorrow to give it a go, if it stops raining.
