K-1 Intervalometer photo processing.

Could someone please explain how the K-1 ll intervalometer process works. I took several photos of the night sky and can’t figure how to stack them. My assumption was that the k-1 does it automatically.

Intervalometer simply takes a photo according to the settings. How many photos and how many seconds between them. Any stacking must be done in software on the computer. There are a number of programs that will do the stacking including Photoshop and Deep Sky Stacker.

There is a you tube video by C.R. Kennedy titled Pentax Astrophotography Part Three titled Multi-Exposure. Mr. Kennedy shows how to set up the K-1 and he states that the K-1 will process the exposures in camera. Does anyone have experience with this?

There are 4 options with interval shooting.
INT which does what you have experienced.
INT composite which combines your images into a single still image.
INT movie which turns your image sequence into a movie file.
Starstream which seems to do the same thing as INT movie.

Thank you steep hill. So if I understand Int composite means that my K-1 will process the images into one single image. How long does it take? Im sure it depends on the number of single images. Then all I need to do is transfer this combined single image to my mac computer for processing, right? I appreciate your assistance as I am new to this operation.

Thanks for that, I was not aware the INT composite could be used for more than a few images. Learned something. Thanks.
