Introduction: Neil Berry

I bought my Pentax Q10 about 6 years ago second hand from a camera shop not too far from me. I was curious about moving up from cheap compact digital to something with a better manual mode and was thinking about buying a bridge camera. When I saw the compact size of the Q10 and the fact that it was still had interchangeable lenses I knew it was the camera for me. Despite its limitations (only 12.5MP, poor display quality especially in low light and a few other niggles) it is a superb little camera and I have enjoyed learning how to use it.

My Q10 came with the 02 standard zoom lens and I bought a second-hand 06 telephoto zoom lens a few years ago.

I also have:
Fujian 35mm TV lens C mount - great for Macro photography and produces shots with great bokeh.
Vivitar 28mm wide-angle P/K mount - good for wide-angle shots, obviously.
Sirius 28mm - 70mm telephoto MC mount - probably the most used lens of the non-standard lenses. Middle distance plus; great macro.
Ozeck 80mm - 160mm telephoto P/K mount - only used when tripod shooting as my hands and arms are a little unsteady.
Sigma 100mm - 200mm telephoto P/K mount - limited use like the Ozeck but even harder to keep steady.

a wide-angle lens mount that fits over the Q10 lenses (fits over the Fijian too but it's almost impossible to focus).

the usual assortment of filters (+1, +2, +5, +10, star, and the like).

Curious about adding a diffuse filter to my collection, maybe a pancake lenses and if anyone who reads this has any recommendations I would be grateful to receive them.

Also always trying to find a non-standard lenses that would be good for portrait work - people often take my photo from not far away (I am a goth and dress the accordingly) and when they show the picture to me I'm somehow not in the close-up I would expect or get if I took a picture from that distance. Probably some kind of wide-angle lenses that is only available to high-end cameras but, again, if anyone knows what I am talking about and can make a recommendation I would defiantly like to read it.

I have created an album of some of my shots, if you have any constructive comments, critique or suggestions I would like to hear them.

Welcome aboard, a little searching shoul find a lot of lens ideas here. Personally I haven’t had a Q for a while and have no relevant experience. But I think a 35 prime may be a nice length,or the Pentax -F 35-70, which is a very good lens on digital APS-C.

Welcome!

Your 02 Standard Zoom should fit the bill nicely for full length portraits at close quarters. On the Q10, a focal length of about 6 mm will give you roughly the same angle of view as the ubiquitous iPhone.

If you want something wider, the 08 Wide Zoom is excellent, but quite expensive.

Welcome to the Forum. Q owners probably feel abandoned by Ricoh but you are certainly welcome here.
