Another new member has arrived

Hi to everyone!

Few days ago I eventually joined the Pentax community trading my Nikon D7200 to K-1. Now I'm getting used to the new camera and the new system. So far so good Going to enjoy my brand new gear!

The original one which is in Russia.
Of course I'll post some pics as soon as I get something decent with my K-1. This far I'm mostly getting used to it, checking focus accuracy and customizing it to my shooting habits. Hopefully over the weekend I'll manage to get some captures. You may suggest subjects you'd like to see

Overall it was definitely a step forward yet I miss some useful Nikon features, like the ability to set a silent underexposure to save highlights. Not sure yet I'll be able to use the Pentax' Highlight Correction in a similar way but I'll see. Anyway the K-1's IQ is amazing!

Welcome from North Carolina, US. I hope you transition is a smooth one, systems all have their own quirkiness. Most people find Pentax pretty intuitive, probably it all depends on how long you used Nikon.

Thanks to everyone who has welcomed me! Being a part of a friendly and knowledgeable community is almost as important as having a good gear In terms of satisfaction, I mean.

Welcome to the forum! My trip to Saint Petersburg was in '98. I loved the long evenings of the Russian summer - not the mosquitos so much!
