Hi from Brisbane, Australia

DSLR noob here .. bought my first DSLR setup in May, 2008 and chose K200D to be my first DSLR body

In the few months since, I've built up a nice DSLR setup I'm happy with.
  • Pentax K200D Body
  • Pentax O-ME53 Magnifying Eye Piece
  • Sigma EF-530 DG Super Flash + Sto-Fen Omni Bouce Diffuser
  • Pentax SMCP-FA 50mm F/1.4
  • Sigma 24-70mm F/3.5-5.6 UC
  • Sigma 105mm EX DG F/2.8 Macro with Hoya Super DMC UV filter 58mm
  • Sigma 10-20mm F/4-5.6 EX DC with Hoya Pro1 D DMC UV filter 77mm
  • Sigma 18-50mm F/2.8 EX DC Macro with Hoya HMC UV filter 72mm

So I'll be hanging around and annoying you folks with noob questions and maybe pickup some new lens in marketplace when I find my footing here

My Lowepro Nova 5 AW bag contents

G'day and welcome. You should find plenty to keep you enthused and nobody knocks a noob's question. Better to learn and share the talent.

It also looks like LBA has already struck too. It is a disease that will stick with you for life.

Welcome, Eva. Where have you shot since getting the gear and what are your main photographic objects of interest?

Why the magnifying eyepiece? You don't appear to have any MF lenses in your current kit.

Dan.

Hi Eva!

Welcome! Geez - thats a lot of kit in your bag.

Anyhow, I'm sure you'll find lots of help for noob questions around here - and don't forget to search for answers too.

Look forward to seeing some images - particularly from the Sigma 105mm macro (I'm looking for a good macro lens....)

Cheers

Thanks Dan

Mainly lots of close up/macro product like photography - computer hardware/reviews etc. I'm short sighted/glasses and it magnifying piece helps somewhat - it's permanently on my K200D now

Hey Eva
Another welcome (from Brisbane)- we seem to be flooding this board. I feel a bit sorry for lithos who is moving away. Some of the people who have replied to you have forgotten more than I know, so keep asking the questions and I will read all of their replies to learn more,

I look forward to your pictures coming up.
